15 best war series: full list

Who likes to watch movies and series online is always looking for new indications. For this, we have several selections, including the best series for weekends and the Netflix Western movies. Now, we have created a list of the best war series.

2. War and Peace

A historical drama that was broadcast by the BBC in 2016, Guerra e Paz is based on a book of the same name. It was written by Andrew Davies and directed by Tom Harper.

5. Rome

Roma – not to be confused with the film of the same name – is an American, English and Italian collaboration, created by John Milius, William J. MacDonald and Bruno Heller.

It tells the lives of the people of Rome, taking place in the last days of the Roman Republic from the perspective of Julius Caesar. Follow the link to watch!

6. Spartacus

One of the most popular series on Netflix, Spartacus was produced in New Zealand and features Andy Whitfield and later Liam McIntyre in the lead role.

7. The Man from Castelo Alto

Created by Frank Spotnitz, O Homem do Castelo Alto is based on a 1962 book of the same name.

8. Land Girls

Created by Roland Moore, Land Girls features Summer Strallen, Christine Bottomley, Jo Woodcock and Becci Gemmell in the cast.

9. Vikings

Vikings, another of the best war series, is a historical drama created and written by Michael Hirst. It features Travis Fimmel in the cast.

10. Wars of Brazil.doc

One of Netflix's best documentaries, Guerra do Brasil.doc was created and produced by Luiz Bolognesi and released in 2019.

11. Time Between Seams

A Spanish series, O Tempo Entre Costuras is a drama based on a book of the same name by María Dueñas.

There follows a young Spanish woman who meets a man and moves with him to Morocco, where she ends up working as a spy for England during World War II. It is available on Netflix, one of the best streaming services.

12. Five Came Back

Five Came Back is another Netflix documentary that was released in 2017 and is based on a book of the same name from 2014.

Of Norwegian origin, Nobel is a series that was launched in 2016, directed by Per-Olav Sørensen and written by Mette M. Bølstad and Stephen Uhlander.

The last of the series on our list, The Vietnam War: A Film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick is a documentary written by Geoffrey C. Ward and directed by Ken Burns.

It shows a comprehensive story about the United States' involvement in the armed conflict that divides Southeast Asia. It is available through the link, on Netflix.
