Amazon Echo: how to connect to another Wi-Fi network
Amazon Echo is really one of the best devices for those who want a virtual assistant that works in the whole house instead of just the smartphone. But another positive point is that you can easily take the device to another location and use it there. The only thing you need to do is connect to another Wi-Fi network and use the Alexa app.
This way, you can set up routines on Alexa even if you are at a friend's house or just traveling. To do this without any doubt, we will teach you below how to connect to another Wi-Fi network on Amazon Echo.
What is Amazon Echo?
Before you even talk about making a change on Amazon Echo, how about talking more about what this device is ?! Basically, it is a cylindrical speaker that can be connected to Alexa, Amazon's virtual assistant.
The device can be placed at different points in the house and has several uses. You can use it to control other smart devices in the house, including lights, locks, TVs, etc.
Other than that, you can also use it to ask Alexa questions or ask her to perform certain tasks.
Connecting to another Wi-Fi network
To tinker with most Amazon Echo settings, you need to use the Alexa mobile app. The good news is that this app is free and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
With the app installed and properly configured with your Amazon Echo, just open it. On the home screen, click on “Devices”, as shown in the image below:
Then, just choose the option “Echo and Alexa”. Essentially, this is where we’ll find most of your Amazon Echo’s settings.
Continuing, on the next screen you must click on the Amazon Echo you have. If you have more than one, it will also appear here.
Then, you must click on the "Change" option in the "Wi-Fi network" section.
In the next one, you will have to choose which device you want to configure to connect to another Wi-Fi network. Just click on the device you have to make this new configuration.
Now, the app will tell you to press the Amazon Echo Action button for exactly six seconds. This will cause the blue light to turn orange, which is the moment when you must press the “Continue” button in the application.
With that done, just choose which of the Wi-Fi networks available at the location you want to use with Amazon Echo. Basically, just repeat this process whenever you want to connect to another Wi-Fi network with Amazon Echo.
