Best spy series: Check out the Top 15!

Someone who enjoys watching series to pass the time is very often looking for new directions and recommendations for what to watch. Some of the ones we've done include the best musical series, the best Netflix teen series and the most viewed series in 2019, and to join them, we now list the best spy series!

1. Confidential Matters

To start the list we have Confidential Affairs, a series that mixes drama and espionage, filmed in Toronto, Canada, for the USA Network channel. It features Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham in the lead roles and started airing in 2010.

It follows Annie Walker, a young intern at the CIA who is sent to the Home Protection Division as a field agent. Your guide to your new life is August Anderson, a blind technology operator.

At first, her story is that she worked at the Smithsonian Museum Acquisitions but was fired. It shows the evolution of the character from her beginnings at the agency to the point where she is an unbreakable agent. 2. The Spy

If you like watching series, it is an Israeli miniseries directed and written by the director of the same country Gideon Raff and Max Perry based on the life of Mossad's best spy, Eli Cohen, played by Sacha Baron Cohen. It is a production by a French company with the focus on being one of the Netflix series.

It received many positive reviews, with Baron Cohen's performance in particular being very well received. However, due to certain lapses in historical reports, it received some criticism.

The series follows Eli Cohen, set in the years just before the 1967 six-day war between Israel and Syria. It also shows his past as a deserter from the Egyptian army and how he started working for Mossad. Watch one of the best spy series through the link.

3. Archer

A cartoon created by Adam Reed for the FX channel, Archer had its first season in 2009. It has excellent voice actors, with H. Jon Benjamin in the main role, as well as Jessica Walter and Aisha Tyler.

It has received many positive reviews in addition to several awards, totaling more than 20 in areas such as animation, writing, directing and dubbing.

It follows eight very dysfunctional special agents in addition to the support staff of the Secret International Intelligence Service, a fictional New York agency. It has ten seasons to date, with the 11th season having its production paused because of the coronavirus. Watch them all on Netflix!

4. Jack Ryan from Tom Clancy

One of the American political thriller series that mixes espionage themes, Jack Ryan from Tom Clancy is one of the best to watch. It is based on characters from the fictional universe created by Tom Clancy that initially aired in 2018 on Prime Video. The series was created by Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland and features John Krasinski in the lead role.

Follows a CIA analyst, Jack Ryan, when he ends up being pulled out of the security of his office work and sent to active duty after discovering a series of dubious bank transfers being made by an Islamic extremist named Suleiman.

In the second season, he is in the middle of a political war in a Venezuela seized by corruption. The third season has already been confirmed. Head to Amazon Prime Video, one of the best streaming services, to see.

5. Man to Man

A South Korean television series, Man to Man (also known as Man x Man) was written by Kim Won-seok, directed by Lee Chang-min and, in the cast, features Park Hae-jin, Park Sung-woong, Kim Min-jung, Chae Jung-an and Yeon Jung-hoon.

A great celebrity, Yeo Woon-gwang, suddenly needs a bodyguard and hires Kim Seol-woo for the job. He is a mysterious man trained in special investigations and who has many talents.

What is not known is that he is an agent of NIS (Korean intelligence) with his own goals, using the role of bodyguards only as a cover. Watch it now on Netflix!

6. Inside the Mossad

A documentary directed by Duki Dror and written by Duki Dror, Yossi Melman and Chen Shelach, Inside the Mossad was released in 2017 as a Netflix original of Israeli origin.

For the first time since its foundation, after many years of never appearing in the media, the Israeli intelligence service, the Mossad has many secrets revealed.

This is one of the series that explores espionage, one of the best in that regard, a dozen ex-Mossad spies expose much of what was going on inside, along with several of their missions. To watch what is one of the best Netflix documentaries just follow the link!

7. 24 Hours

A series that mixes action and drama, 24 Hours was created by Joel Selvagemow and Robert Cochran for Fox. It features Kiefer Sutherland in the lead role. It had its first season released in 2001 and has 192 episodes spread over eight seasons, having ended in 2010.

In this series, each episode shows an hour in the life of Jack Bauer, a counter-terrorist agent. It uses real time as a narrative method. It starts with him working at the Los Angeles headquarters.

8. Operation Berlin

A drama series created by Olen Steinhauer, Operation Berlin features Richard Armitage, Rhys Ifans, Leland Orser, Michelle Forbes and Richard Jenkins in the cast and Bradford Winters as showrunner for the first two seasons. It started airing in 2016 and was canceled in 2018, after the third season.

The story follows Daniel Miller, a man who just arrived at the CIA station in Berlin, Germany. In the first season, he has a clandestine mission to discover the source of some information that was given to Thomas Shaw.

In the second, he is tasked with infiltrating a far-right German political party that is planning a terrorist act just before the elections. To see yet another of the best spy series, follow the link!

9. Pine Gap

Of Australian origin, Pine Gap was released on Netflix and aired on ABC in 2018. It is arranged in six parts that were written and created by Greg Haddrick and Felicity Packard, with Mat King taking the role of director.

It is a political thriller that talks about the joint defense unit between Australia and the USA that is in Pine Gap, a small town. It exploits the supposedly strong alliance between the two countries. To check it out, just follow the link to Netflix!

10. Homeland – National Security

Another spy series, Homeland, was developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansac on the basis of an Israeli series called Prisoners of War, created by Gideon Raff. It features Claire Danes in the lead role. It had its first season in 2011 and ended that year in 2020.

It follows Carrie Mathison, a CIA agent who has bipolar personality disorder and Nicholas Brody as an American navy sniper. Mathison came to believe that Brody, who had been an al-Qaeda prisoner, had turned on them believing that he is a threat to the United States.

11. Retaliation

Another South Korean option is Retaliation, one of the best espionage TV shows it has. The cast includes Lee Seung-gi, Bae Suzy and Shin Sung-rok. It was written by Jang Young-chul and Jung Kyung-soon and directed by Yoo In-sik for the SBS channel in 2019.

The series follows Cha Dal-Geon, a stuntman who dreams of becoming a famous action actor. However, when his nephew is traveling to Morocco for a taekwondo show, the plane crashes. Cha then sees someone who was a "victim" of the fatal flight and is convinced that a group sabotaged his nephew's flight.

They, together with a Korean spy, go to the Korean embassy in Morocco to find out what happened and, in this, discover a much more secret and sinister conspiracy than they could have imagined. Check out one of the best international Netflix series through the link.

12. Black List

An American criminal thriller series created for the NBC channel in 2013, Black List was created by Jon Bokenkamp and stars in the cast with Megan Boone, James Spader, Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold and Harry Lennix.

Follows Raymond Reddington, a former American intelligence officer who has disappeared becoming one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. He surrenders to the FBI 20 years later and offers all of his knowledge to arrest the criminals and terrorists he has associated with in exchange for two things.

13. The Very Secret Service

Of French origin, A Very Secret Service is one of the best spy series, but it has a lot of comedy to stand out. It was created by Jean-François Halin, directed by Alexandre Courtès and produced by Gilles de Verdière. The cast includes Hugo Becker, Wilfred Benaïche and Christophe Kourotchkine.

It has two seasons and was shown in 2015 on a French channel. The series parodies espionage films, mainly about the country's secret services in the early 1960s.

14. The Time Between Seams

Tempo Entre Costuras is also one of the best war series ever created. It is of Spanish origin and was produced for the channel Antena 3, without an adaptation of the book of the same name by María Dueñas.

Follow Sira Quiroga, a Spanish seamstress engaged to a good man. However, when a typewriter salesman appears, his life goes on the air. She, together, flees with him to Tangier where she ends up getting involved with certain espionage schemes.

15. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Finally, we have what is one of the best fantasy series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It is an American series created for ABC by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen based on the organization S.H.I.E.L.D. from Marvel. The cast includes Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennet.

Follows Phil Coulson, an agent for S.H.I.E.L.D. which is bringing together a small group of agents to deal with strange new cases. They investigate the Centipede Project and its leader, discovering that the organization is headed by the terrorist group Hydra, which infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D.

They, then, must do everything to not only rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as dealing with Hydra, which wants to destroy all the superhuman agents of S.H.I.E.L.D .. It is available to watch on Netflix!
