Caixa app: how does it work?

If you have already used bank applications, it is quite possible that you have heard of or used Caixa Econômica Federal's main digital bank app. Although it is a good app for those who have an account there, it is not ideal for those who just want or need to access the benefits of social programs. For this, you need to use the Caixa Tem application.

Only because it is relatively new, not many people know or know what the Caixa Tem application works for. Therefore, we have set up a very easy to understand tutorial in which we explain how it works and how you can create your account. All in a few steps, as you can see below.

How does the Caixa Tem application work?

As mentioned, the Caixa Tem application is excellent for those who need to access social programs. This includes Emergency Aid and Emergency FGTS, for example.

It is worth mentioning that it works only for Digital Social Savings, which is a free and very simple account. As it is only for beneficiaries of programs like the ones we mentioned, it ends up being somewhat limited.

In addition to using the app to manage your benefits, you can also make transfers to other accounts. Other than that, it is possible to pay slips and make purchases with QR Code or even a virtual debit card.

Who can use it?

Now that we know more about Caixa Tem, it is worth mentioning who can use it. The truth is that anyone can simply make an account on the app, but you will not have many advantages if you do so and have no benefits to receive there.

You do not need to have a checking account at Caixa to make the account. Just be one of the people who are entitled to social benefits emergencies, even if you have accounts with other banks.

How to create your account in Caixa Tem

With the application downloaded on your smartphone, it is very simple to create an account in the Caixa Tem application. Just follow these steps:

Step 1: to start, open the app on your smartphone. The first thing you will see is a request to enter your CPF, so Caixa will know who you are.

Step 2: that done, just click "Continue" to move on.

Step 3: on the next page, click on the “Sign in” option.

Step 4: then, enter your CPF again in the Caixa Tem application and click on “Next”.

Step 5: on the new screen, enter your full name and click "Next".

Step 6: then enter your mobile phone number and confirm it to proceed to the next step.

Step 7: on the next page, enter your date of birth and click "Next".

Step 8: Now, enter the zip code of your current residence. Click “Next” again to proceed.

Step 9: continuing, you must enter one of your email addresses. It is better to put what you use the most.

Step 10: Next, you’ll need to create and confirm a password for your account. This password must be all numeric, count at least six digits and has some restrictions.

It is not possible to enter your CPF or birth as a password or have repetitions in sequences with more than two digits.

Step 11: The next step is to link your cell phone to the CPF. Just ask the app to send the SMS to the number you entered earlier.

You only have to enter the code entered in the SMS to complete the link.

Step 12: only this is not enough, since you will need an email verification as well. It will send the email automatically, but if not, click on “Resend email”.

With that, just go to your email and confirm that you opened the account in the Caixa Tem application.

Step 13: it is quite possible that even after this process, you will have to wait a few hours or even more than a day for the account to be authenticated. You will receive a notice with the deadline in the same app.

Step 14: when the account is ready, you just need to enter your CPF and password. The first time, the app will ask if you want to activate Biometrics for more security.

This choice is up to you, not least because not everyone has a fingerprint reader on their smartphones.

Step 15: with all this done, your account in the Caixa Tem app will be ready for use. As you can see on the home screen, you can make withdrawals, use a virtual debit card, transfer money, top up your phone and much more.
