Find out if your device will have the iOS 15 update
During the WWDC 2021 event, Apple finally unveiled the long-awaited iOS 15, the new version of the operating system for the company's mobile devices. In a short time, you could already see that this update is full of news and new or improved features for those who prefer apple products. But of course that question remains: after all, which devices will receive the iOS 15 update?
Fortunately, this is pretty easy to find out, as Apple has released the full list of devices that will receive such an update. For those who have an Apple Watch, it's also possible to know which ones will have the current watchOS 8 update. If you're curious, just check out the full list below!
Which devices will have the iOS 15 update?
As mentioned above, Apple has already released the list of devices that will have the chance to update to iOS 15. It is worth remembering that now iOS only applies to iPhones and some iPod models, as the iPad has an operating system itself, the iPadOS.
To find out if your device is on the list, just check the models that will support the update below:
- iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
- iPhone X and iPhone XR
- iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus
- iPhone SE (1st and 2nd generation)
- iPod Touch (7th generation)
There are a lot of models, isn't it?! The best part is that several of them are already old Apple devices, which is great for users who thought they were going to be unsupported in this new update. It is worth remembering that there is no forecast for the update yet, but it should be released in September this year along with the company's new iPhone.
Of course, whoever is a developer can already have access to the iOS 15 beta version, even to start preparing their apps and games for the update.
Will your Apple Watch be updated to watchOS 8?
As mentioned, Apple also unveiled watchOS 8, the operating system for the company's smart watch. The complete list of devices that will have the update can be seen below:
- Apple Watch Series 3
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch SE
Really cool that so many models have the chance to receive this update. What you need to know is that, although the beta version is already released to developers, the official version is expected to reach the public in July 2021.
