How to add a reminder in Windows?
Taking notes or reminders can be very useful in the middle of work. This is especially true for those who are working on a few different projects or need to remember other topics later. Only instead of taking notes on paper, you can prefer this on your own computer. It is possible to add a reminder in Windows, on your desktop, for example.
This way, always look at your PC's home screen, see the notes and remember what you have to do. The good news is that this is very simple to do on Windows computers. So, if you want to know how to add a reminder in Windows, just check out our tips below!
To begin, you must make sure that you already have the note-taking application on your computer. In many cases, it is already installed by default, but if not, just go to Microsoft's online store to download it.
The app is called “Sticky Notes” and you can check it by accessing the store link. The installation is just like a mobile app, for example, and it happens in a few seconds.
In general, the application is available for any more modern version of Windows. So even if you don't have Windows 10 installed on your PC, chances are you still have access to the note taking app.
How to add reminder in Windows?
With the app installed on your computer, now it's time to start using it to add a reminder in Windows. Your first step is to click on the "Start" menu and search for the app by the name "Sticky Notes"
The app will appear first in your search, so just click on its icon to open it.
As soon as you open it for the first time, you will see a message mentioning the possibility of synchronization and backup. It is a good way to keep your notes saved and distributed across several of your devices. Just click on “Introduction” to be sure.
Once this is done, you will be taken directly to the creation of a new note. Just click on the note to write what you want, as we did in the image below.
You can also use the options at the bottom to modify the formatting of what to write or include an image when adding a reminder in Windows.
If you click on the three vertical dots at the top right of the reminder, you can still change its color. Few color options are available, but this can be very useful for separating the type of annotation.
After doing so, just close the note creation window and click anywhere on your desktop. This will leave the reminder without showing the editing options and more like a normal post-it.
You can drag it anywhere on your desktop, so everything is more organized. Other than that, you can click on the reminder again to show the editing options.
If you click on the “+” symbol, it will create another note that you can modify in the same way. There, this is how you add a reminder in Windows quickly and easily.
It is worth mentioning that these reminders only appear on the Windows desktop. So, they will not overlap in other applications or games that you will use at some point.
If you turn on the PC and do not see the notes, just open the Sticky Notes app and they will appear again. Since everything is saved automatically, they will have the same content and will be in the same place that you left them before.
