Disabling Instagram Message Requests
First of all, it's worth noting that we'll do the tutorial on an Android device, but the steps are identical on the iPhone. So, just follow the guide normally on any smartphone that has Instagram installed and you won't have any problems.
Step 1: To get started, open the Instagram app on your smartphone. Go to your profile and click on the three vertical dashes on the right of the screen.
Step 2: in the tab that opens, just click on the “Settings” option.

Step 3: In the new window, click on “Privacy” to proceed.
Step 4: You will see some new different options regarding your account privacy. Click on "Messages" to continue.
Step 5: Under the “Other People” tab you will see the options for “Other People on Facebook” and “Other People on Instagram”. You can perform this step in these two options or just in the Instagram part if you want.
Click on these options to proceed.
Step 6: When doing this, you will have to select the option of “Don't receive requests”. As we mentioned, you can do this only with regard to Instagram or also perform this step with regard to Facebook.
That's it, you'll have disabled message requests on your Instagram. It's quite an easy procedure to perform, don't you think?
Of course, if you prefer, you can also reverse this entire process by going back to the requests menu and allowing them to appear again. Our only suggestion if you do this is not to click on any strange links you receive in these messages, as they may have malware or be a scam.
