How to view Covid-19 information on Google Maps?

As we mentioned, it is quite easy to use Google Maps to see Covid-19 information in your region. In fact, it is so simple that you can do it in just 4 steps, just by having the Google Maps app on your smartphone.

Step 1: To get started, open the Google Maps app on your smartphone and make sure the device's GPS is turned on. Then click on the layers option, as we demonstrated in the image below:

Step 2: This will open a tab full of options for different map types. Among them is the option you must click to proceed, which is “Covid data”.

Step 3: Once this is done, the map will show you exactly how to view Covid-19 information on Google Maps for your region. You can move the map as you prefer to see the regions more or less affected.

Step 4: you can also zoom out the map to see the situation in other states in Brazil or other places in the world. You can identify the situation by the colors of each location.

To get a better sense, the colors work as follows:

• Grey: less than 1 case per 100 thousand inhabitants
• Yellow: 1 to 10 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants
• Light orange: 10 to 20 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants
• Dark orange: 20 to 30 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants
• Light red: 30 to 40 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants
• Dark red: more than 40 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants

You can also see the trend of the last 7 days, that is, whether the number of cases is increasing or decreasing. Other data include the total number of confirmed cases and the total number of confirmed deaths so far.
